Westmatic continues to exemplify its progressive corporate philosophy in supporting the local economy.

BUFFALO, NY--(Feb. 20, 2013)—Westmatic Corporation recently completed the Buy Local Challenge, becoming the very first company to complete the challenge.  The Buy Local Challenge is a part of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership's Buy Local Initiative, which aims to encourage reinvestment in the Buffalo Niagara regional economy and local sourcing.

"In January, we asked Partnership members to take a direct and active role in demonstrating the importance of buying local as a catalyst for growing our regional economy," said Andrew Rudnick, president and CEO of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership. "Our 2013 Buy Local Challenge means reinvestment in our regional economy through local business-to-business sourcing leading to greater private sector investment and job creation."

In order to complete the challenge, a company is required to make a first-time purchase of a product or service from a local vendor, within the eight counties of the Buffalo Niagara region, during the year 2013.  Once the company has purchased the product or service from a local vendor, the business must inform the Buffalo Niagara Partnership of the transaction, where it is then placed under review.  Once the Partnership reviews the transaction and verifies its legitimacy, the business has completed the Buy Local Challenge.

"One of the main goals of Westmatic Corporation in regards to purchasing components for manufacturing and operating our Large Vehicle Wash Systems is to establish and maintain relationships with local suppliers in the Buffalo Niagara region," states Chris Jordan, Purchasing/Logistics Manager at Westmatic Corporation.  "These partnerships are extremely important to us as we continue to grow and expand our business.  The main component categories include metal fabricating/machining, plumbing and electrical supplies   Westmatic is very proud to represent Western New York and our 'Made in the USA' mantra."

Westmatic Corporation is a pro-local manufacturer of Automatic Large Vehicle Wash systems designed to wash buses, trucks, and trains.  Westmatic was founded in 1974 in Arvika, Sweden, and established itself in the North American market in 2005.  In 2008, Westmatic created its North American headquarters by building its USA full production factory in Buffalo, NY.  All Westmatic equipment complies with "Buy America."
